From Wednesday to Saturday, 23–26 September 2020, ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week took place at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC).

ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week (ASE) is Southeast Asia’s largest and most comprehensive renewable energy, environmental and energy efficiency exhibition and consists of multiple shows simultaneously: Renewable Energy Asia, Entech Pollutec Asia, Energy Efficiency Expo and Electric Vehicle Asia. This year ASE was held in conjunction with Boilex Asia (BA) and Pumps & Valves Asia (PVA).

With ASE Digital Showroom, a virtual exhibition took place simultaneously to the physical exhibition at BITEC from 23-26 September 2020 and gave trade buyers and visitors, as well as exhibitors the possibility to meet and exchange online.

During the 4 days of the show the exhibitors at the SWISS Pavilion, e.g. Bang and Clean Technologies AG, HUBA Control AG, Kyburz Asia Co. Ltd., SID SA (SID Machinery (Beijing) Co.,Ltd) / Doss Tech Co. Ltd. together with the Swiss Thai Chamber of Commerce - took the opportunity to present their unique solutions and technology to professional trade visitors and acquire important new contacts in the Southeast Asian region.

In these difficult times of business disruption in 2020, these co-located environmental trade fairs ASE, BA & PVA had a total of 173 exhibitors and 21'060 visitors. The fair recorded an average of 5000 visitors daily during the 4 days. Compared to the show in 2019, the number of visitors was around 25% less this time (ASE in conjunction with ThaiWater in 2019: 26'200 visitors). This was mostly because of the current travel restrictions applying in Thailand. The SWISS Pavilion exhibitors were nonetheless satisfied with the visitor numbers of the physical event and the contacts that they have made during the 4 days of the trade fair. Top Buyers present on site included Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Toyota Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TDEM), TTCL Public Company Limited., CPRAM Company Limited., Energy plus, United Fabric Co., Ltd., NAN YANG GARMENT CO., LTD., PD Flowtech Co., Ltd., CR Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and many more. More than 50 seminars and international conferences on energy-related topics were organized during the exhibition period.

Visit of the Swiss Embassy: Mr. Pierre Hagmann, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland in Thailand and Advisor to the Board of the SwissThai Chamber of Commerce (STCC) and Ms. Phyllis Bussinger, Academic Associate at the Political Section of the Embassy of Switzerland visited the SWISS Pavilion at ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week on the Opening Day of the trade fair on Wednesday, 23 September 2020. We are thrilled about their visit on site and grateful for their interest in the energy and environmental sector and the Swiss companies on the Pavilion.

We would like to thank the organizers informa markets for their great support before and during the show and the Swiss Thai Chamber of Commerce (STCC) in Bangkok for the good cooperation and their great commitment on site.

A special thank you goes to Mr. Thomas Luescher, founder of Kyburz Asia Co. Ltd. and Director of STCC for taking care of the Pavilion, all the Swiss exhibitors on site and organizing the visit of the Swiss Embassy!

Thanks also to AMC Exhibits, our trusted stand building partner, for arranging our booth in Bangkok and Southeast Asia in the past years.
