IFAT, the world's leading trade fair for environmental technologies, is coming to South America for the first time next year with IFAT Brasil in São Paulo from April 24 to 26, 2024. Brazil faces significant environmental challenges in the fields of drinking water treatment, sewage and waste management. According to official estimates, around 35 million Brazilians have no access to treated water, and over 100 million people in Brazil are not connected to a sewage system. To address these challenges, the Brazilian government has decided to privatize the water and sewage sector, which is expected to attract private investment of more than $50 billion over the next decade.

The investment in environmental technologies, including water extraction, treatment and supply, as well as sewage and waste collection and recycling, is critical to Brazil's objectives in the fields of drainage, waste, water and sewage management by 2033. The government's goals include universal access to drinking water and sewage systems, as well as the restoration of water quality in rivers and other water bodies.

IFAT Brasil, as part of an international industry network, will play a vital role in achieving these objectives by providing a central platform for environmental technology experts, exhibitors, and visitors to share knowledge and showcase innovative solutions.
